CBI ARRESTS A DGM OF NBCC AND A DIRECTOR OF PRIVATE COMPANY IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Deputy General Manager, NBCC Limited, Udaipur (Tripura) and a Director of a Shillong based private company in a bribery case.

A case was registered U/s 120B of the IPC and Section 7 of the P.C Act (As amended in 2018) against a Deputy General Manager, NBCC Ltd. Udaipur (Tripura) and a Director of a private company based at Shillong (Meghalaya) on the allegations of demanding illegal gratification regularly from the said private businessman, for showing favor in preparation of measurement books, processing of running bills, release of early payment against bills for the construction work of roads, specially under PMGSY Scheme in Tripura. The work was awarded to the private company by NBCC Ltd. and was being supervised by said Public Servant. CBI laid a trap and caught the DGM (NBCC) who was in possession of illegal gratification of Rs. 2.30 Lakh given to him by the other accused of the said private company. The other accused (private person) was also arrested. Searches were conducted at the premises of both the accused at Udaipur (Tripura), Agartala and Shillong respectively which led to recovery of various other incriminating documents. Searches are also going on at the native place of the public servant at Panvel, (Maharashtra) and one of his associates at Agartala.

The arrested accused will be produced before the Competent Court at Shillong.
