CBI ARRESTS A SANITARY INSPECTOR OF SOUTH DELHI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. 25,000/-

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sanitary Inspector of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), West Zone, Delhi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000/- from the complainant.

A case was registered u/S 7 of the PC Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018) against the accused on allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs. 25,000/- from the complainant, for signing the Hazri Register relating to Safai Karmcharies working under the complainant. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000/- from the complainant.

Searches were conducted at the official and residential premises of the accused, which led to recovery of documents relating to financial transactions.

The arrested accused was produced today before the Special Judge, Rouse Avenue Courts, Delhi and remanded to Judicial Custody till 13.05.2019.
