FIVE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO A CANDIDATEAND AN IMPERSONATOR IN A VYAPAM RELATED CASE

The Special CBI Judge, Vyapam Cases, Bhopal has sentenced Sh. Ashish Awaliya(candidate) and Jai Singh Handa (impersonator/solver) to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment in a Vyapam related case.

CBI had registered the case in compliance of the orders dated 09.07.2015 of Supreme Court of India and taken over the investigation of said case which was earlier registered at Police Station STF, Bhopal. It was alleged that the candidate Ashish Awaliya had used unfair means in Police Constable Recruitment Test (PCRT)-2013 and got selected in the said test. During inquiry, he allegedly admitted to have arranged a solver to take the examination in his place for an amount of Rs. 1.50 lakh.

During investigation, CBI had traced the impersonator/solver Jai Singh Handa, who had appeared in the written examination of PCRT-2013 in place of Ashish Awaliya at examination centre, Misrod, Bhopal on 07.04.2013. After investigation, CBI filed chargesheet against the accused persons Ashish Awaliya (candidate) and Jai Singh Handa (impersonator/solver) U/s 120-B, r/w 419, 420, 467, 468 & 471 of IPC and Section 3(D)(1),(2)/4 of MPRE Act, 1937 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI, VyapamCases, Bhopal.

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
