CBI ARRESTS THREE ACCUSED IN A FAKE RAILWAY RECRUITMENT SCAM CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested three accused, residents of Kolkata, Hawara(West Bengal) and Cuttack (Odisha) in an on-going investigation of a case of fake Railway Recruitment Scam.

The arrested accused are being brought to Delhi after taking transit remand from jurisdictional court.

A case was registered u/s 419, 468, 471 of IPC and section 66D of IT Act, 2000 on a complaint from the Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. It was alleged that some unscrupulous persons opened a fake website which was an exact copy of the official RVNL website with a difference that fraud recruitment notices were being uploaded and information regarding interview dates published with an intention to do de-fraud the people into applying for a job using this website.

During investigation, searches were conducted at six places in Odisha and West Bengal. During search, application forms filled by victims and other incriminating articles like mobile phones, Laptop etc. have been recovered.

Investigation is continuing.
