The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested eight private persons, residents of Agra, Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Chomu (Rajasthan), Sonepat (Haryana) & Delhi in a case relating to alleged fake recruitment in Railways.

A case was registered U/s 120-B r/w 419, 420, 468, 471 of IPC and Section 66 D of Information Technology Act, 2000 on the allegations of fake Railway recruitment, by using fake website in the name of Railway Recruitment Control Board. It was further alleged that the accused persons followed a set procedure similar to one followed by Government recruitment agencies. The accused lured candidates mainly from Rajasthan and other states in the name of offering jobs of Group C & D in Indian Railways and other government organizations. The candidates were instructed to fill application form and submit their documents related to their qualification, IDs, photographs etc. After this, the candidates were directed to visit Government Hospitals, for medical fitness Certificate. Later, candidates are advised to check their result on the fake website. Bogus training was also organized. Amounts ranging from Rs. 3 to 5 lakh were allegedly collected from each candidate in the name of fraudulent employment offer.

Searches were conducted at the premises of accused persons at 08 locations in Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Sonepat & Agra which led to recovery of several incriminating documents, mobile phones, Bank cards, seals and cash.

The arrested accused were produced before the Designated Court, Delhi and remanded to Police Custody up to 26.07.2018
