CBI ARRESTS AN OFFICIAL OF AIR FORCE STATION CHAKERI (U.P.) AND AN ASSISTANT ENGINEER OF KANPUR DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN A BRIBERY CASE OF Rs. ONE LAKH

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a LDC, Land Department, Indian Air Force Station Chakeri, Kanpur (Utter Pradesh) and an Assistant Engineer, Zone-I, Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) in a bribery case of Rs. One lakh.

            A case was registered u/s 7 of PC 1988 on a complaint against an Airforce Employee posted at Land Department, Airforce Station, Chakeri, Kanpur Nagar (Uttar Pradesh). It was alleged in the complaint that the said employee demanded bribe of Rs. Fifteen Lakh from the complainant for issuance of ‘No Objection Certificate’ for his factory (doing leather export business), and on non-payment of bribe amount, the building will be demolished with the help of Kanpur Development Authority (KDA). CBI laid a trap and caught the LDC while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.1,00,000/- from the complainant. During investigation, alleged role of Assistant Engineer, Zone-I, KDA, Kanpur Nagar was found and he was also arrested. Searches were conducted at the premises of accused.

Both the arrested accused are being produced today before the Competent Court at Lucknow (U.P.).
