CBI FILES A CHARGESHEET AGAINST 10 ACCUSED IN A CASE RELATED TO AN INCIDENT IN DISTRICT UNNAO (UTTAR PRADESH)

The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed a chargesheet before the Competent Court against 10 accused including a Sub-Inspector (then SO), Police Station- Makhi, District-Unnao (Uttar Pradesh); another Sub-Inspector & one Constable of the said Police Station; an MLA and other persons U/s 120-B r/w 166, 167, 193, 201, 218 of IPC and Section 3/25 of Arms Act & substantive offences thereof.

CBI had registered a case on 12th April, 2018 on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government & further notification from Government of India and taken over the investigation of crime No. 0089/2018 U/s 323, 504, 506 of IPC and Section 3 & 25 of Arms Act, earlier registered at Police Station- Makhi, District Unnao (U.P.) on a complaint alleging therein that a private person (since deceased), resident of village- Makhi, District-Unnao was caught by the complainant with the help of his aides while he was threatening by flashing a country made pistol, near Babukhera Tri-junction and the said private person suffered injuries during this process. The said private person (since deceased) was arrested by Police on the same day and sent to Judicial Custody at District Jail, Unnao on 04.04.2018. He was admitted in District Hospital, Unnao on 08.04.2018 for treatment where he succumbed to injuries on 09.04.2018.


Further investigation U/s 173 (8) Cr.P.C. is continuing.

The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.
