CBI ARRESTS PRINCIPAL OF KENDRIYA VIDYALAYA, KHANAPARA, GUWAHATI IN A BRIBERY CASE

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested the Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara, Guwahati while accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000/-. CBI has registered a case U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the accused.

On a complaint filed with CBI, the complainant alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from him. The complainant had earlier been awarded contract work by Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapura for Rs.9 lakh for construction of a children's park. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe.

Searches were conducted at the premises of accused and staff quarter of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapura which led to recovery of incriminating documents.

The arrested accused was produced before the competent court at Guwahati today and was remanded to two days Police Custody.

Investigation is continuing.
