CBI ARRESTS A DEPUTY GENERAL MANAGER (TECHNICAL) OF ONGC FOR ACCEPTING BRIBE OF RS. FOUR LAKH

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Deputy General Manager (Technical) Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Kakinada for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. four lakh from the complainant.

            A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the accused on the allegations of demanding a bribe from the complainant to help him in a tender process. CBI laid a trap and caught the Deputy General Manager (Technical), while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 4,00,000/- from the complainant (a contractor). Searches were conducted at the premises of DGM which led to recovery of several properties including house at Kakinad; one flat at Vijayawada; FDs worth Rs. 37 lakh (approx); Cash of Rs.1.65 lakh (approx); several Bank accounts and 2 lockers.

The accused will be produced today before the Principal Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam.
