CAPITAL PUNISHMENT TO TWO ACCUSED IN A CASE RELATED TO MURDER OF A VICTIM

            The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) has today imposed Death Penalty to both accused Surender Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher with fine of Rs.10,000/- u/s 302 of IPC. The case pertains to abduction, rape & murder of the victim in one of the Nithari(UP) group of cases. The Court further sentenced the accused Surender Koli to undergo Life Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000/- u/s 364 of IPC, 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10,000/- u/s 376/511 of IPC & 7 years RI with fine of Rs. 5,000/- u/s 201 of IPC. Similarly, the Court also sentenced the accused Mohinder Singh Pandher to undergo 7 years RI with fine of Rs. 5,000/- u/s 376 of IPC r/w 120-B of IPC and 7 years RI with fine of Rs. 5,000/- u/s 201 of IPC r/w 120-B of IPC.

            CBI had registered a case on 11.01.2007 against Shri Surender Koli resident of Village Magru Khal, District Almora(Uttrakhand) and Shri Moninder Singh Pandher resident of Sector 27 Chandigarh on the request of Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and subsequent notification by Govt. of India. It was alleged that the accused Surender Koli committed rape and murder of the victim at D-5, Sector 3, NOIDA (UP) on 22.12.2006. After investigation, charge-sheet was filed in the court of SJM, CBI Cases, Ghaziabad (U.P.) on 11.04.2007. Charges were framed on 04.06.2007.

            The Trial Court found the accused persons guilty and convicted them on 21.07.2017.
