CBI ARRESTS TWO OFFICIALS OF DELHI POLICE AND AN OFFICIAL OF SECR IN SEPARATE CASES OF BRIBERY

         The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector and a Constable both posted at Police Station Narela, New Delhi in a bribery of Rs. 50,000/-.

         A case was registered u/s 120-B of IPC & u/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 against the Constable & Assistant Sub-Inspector of said Police Station. The complainant alleged that the accused persons had demanded a bribe of Rs.1,50,000/- on behalf of the SHO, Police Station Narela, New Delhi for not stopping the alleged illegal construction of his building at Narela and he was instructed to pay Rs. 50,000/- as part installment of the bribe.

        CBI laid a trap and caught Constable, red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant. Later, ASI was also arrested. Searches were conducted at the office & residence of the accused persons.

         The arrested accused are being produced today before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Rohini Courts, Delhi.

         In another case, CBI has arrested a Clerk (Bill Section) working in the office of Senior DPO, SECR, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 28,000/- from the complainant.

         A case was registered against Clerk (Bill Section) U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on the allegations that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 30,000/- from the complainant and agreed to accept Rs. 28,000/- for releasing the pending arrears of salary & allowances of the complainant. CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 28,000/-.

         The accused was produced before the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Raipur and remanded to three days police custody.
