TWO TO FIVE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN SUB DIVISIONAL INSPECTOR(POSTAL); THEN SECTION ENGINEER OF RAILWAYS; THEN ENGINEER OF MES AND THEN SOCIAL SECURITY OFFICER OF ESIC IN SEPARATE CASES OF BRIBERY

        The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Raipur (Chattisgarh) has sentenced Shri Khilesh Kumar Patle, then Sub Divisional Inspector (Postal) Ambikapur Sub-Division, District- Ambikapur(Chhatisgarh) to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.One Lakh in a bribery case.

         CBI registered a case on 25.12.2012 against Shri Khilesh Kumar Patle, Sub Divisional Inspector (Postal), Ambikapur Sub-Division, District- Ambikapur on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant for processing the matter of complainant’s early joining as Gramin Dak Sevak Shakha Dakpal. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught while accepting the bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant. A chargesheet was filed against the accused on 01.04.2013 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Raipur U/s 7 & 13 (2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.

         In the second case, the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Raipur has sentenced Shri Gautam Chaudhary, then Section Engineer (P.Way), South East Central Railway (SECR), Raigarh(Chattisgarh) to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.20,000/-.

         CBI registered the case on 09.02.2010 against Shri Gautam Chaudhary, Section Engineer(P.Way), South East Central Railway (SECR), Raigarh(Chattisgarh) on the allegations that he demanded a bribe of Rs. 4,000/- from the complainant to allow his vehicle to pass the Railway crossing since the height of the boiler loaded on the vehicle was more than the height of the Railway crossing barrier. The accused was caught by CBI while accepting the bribe. A chargesheet was filed against the accused on 30.04.2010 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI, Raipur U/s 7 & 13 (2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.

         In the third case, the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi (Jharkhand) has sentenced Shri Sushil Kumar Parwani, then Commander Works Engineer, Military Engineering Services, Ranchi to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.15,000/-.

         CBI registered a case on 26.07.2008 on the allegations of demanding a bribe of Rs.1,25,000/- from the complainant for accepting the tenders. The accused was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000/- from the complainant. A chargesheet was filed on 28.02.2009 U/s 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.

         In fourth case, the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Trivandrum (Kerala) has sentenced Shri Suraj Kumar Kesari, then Social Security Officer, Employees State Insurance Corporation, Inspection Office, Kottarakara, Kollam District (Kerala) to undergo four years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.Two Lakh.

         The said case was registered on 23.06.2013 on a complaint against Shri Suraj Kumar Kesari, Social Security Officer, ESIC for demanding a bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant for waving off the penalty on account of ESIC contribution by manipulating the relevant records of complainant's firm. Consequent to the registration of the case, a trap was laid and the accused was caught red handed on 24.06.2013 while accepting the bribe of Rs.10,000/- from the complainant.

         The Trial Court found the accused persons guilty and convicted them.
