FIVE TO SEVEN YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT TO THEN OFFICIAL OF CGHS AND HER HUSBAND FOR CAUSING LOSS TO GOVERNMENT EXCHEQUER

         The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi has sentenced Mrs. Neelam Sehgal, then Accountant of CGHS(South Zone), R.K.Puram, New Delhi to undergo seven years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.15.16 lakh; her husband Shri Jagdish Sehgal (a private person ) to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.Two lakh and her daughter Ms.Ritu Sehgal to pay a fine of Rs.Two lakh. The Court also passed the order to confiscate the properties of the accused persons.

         CBI registered this case on 29.10.2013 against Mrs.Neelam Sehgal, UDC-cum-Accountant in Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), R.K. Puram, New Delhi and others. It was alleged that Mrs. Neelam Sehgal used to prepare fake bills in the name of her daughter Ritu Sehgal & other fictitious persons and misappropriated the Government money in about 23 cases amounting to Rs.4,44,372/- (approx). In another such instance, Mrs.Neelam Sehgal allegedly claimed false bills for Rs Rs.2,44,077/- (approx). After investigation, a charge sheet was filed on 16.04.2015 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi.

         The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them
