CBI ARRESTS A WORKS MANAGER, NOTHERN RAILWAY IN A BRIBERY CASE

            The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested a Works Manager, Northern Railway, Jagadhri Workshop, Yamuna Nagar (Haryana) in a bribery case.

           A case was registered U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 against Works Manager, Northern Railway, Jagadhri on a complaint. The complainant, a Railway Contractor had alleged that three separate contracts were awarded to him for the execution of the repair works of rail wagons. The works pertaining to two contracts were completely executed and the works pertaining to the 3rd contract was partly executed. On the basis of the works executed, he had submitted the bills for the same. The accused had allegedly demanded bribe @ 2% for passing the bills of the complainant which was calculated as Rs.17,340/- and also threatened him that in case of non-payment of bribe, his bill will not be passed for payment.

 CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding & accepting the said bribe from the complainant.

 The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow before the Court of Special Judge, CBI, Panchkula.
