THREE TO FIVE YEARS RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT WITH FINE OF RS.37 LAKH TO RS.ONE CRORE TO THEN ASSISTANT MANAGER, RITES LIMITED AND HIS BROTHER

      The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Karkardooma Courts, New Delhi has convicted Shri Ravinder Kumar, then Assistant Manager, RITES Limited, New Delhi & his brother Shri Rajesh Kumar in two cases. Shri Ravinder Kumar was sentenced to undergo five years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.37 lakh in both the cases and Shri Rajesh Kumar to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. One Crore.

       CBI had registered two cases on 21.08.2009 and 29.07.2011 respectively against Ravinder Kumar; his brother Shri Rajesh Kumar & others. It was alleged that the Shri Ravinder Kumar while working as Assistant Manager (F) in RITES, New Delhi during 2004 to 2008 entered into a criminal conspiracy with his wife & brother and in pursuance of the said conspiracy resorted to the misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs.10,25,789/-(approx) drawn as Group Savings Link Insurance Scheme (GSLI) claimed in the name of various fictitious persons. Similarly, in the second case, Shri Ravinder Kumar falsified the official records of RITES and in conspiracy with his brother Rajesh Kumar misappropriated over Rs.One Crore(approx) of the company. After investigation, chargesheet was filed in the Designated Court, Delhi.

     The Trial Court found both the accused guilty and convicted them.
