The laboratory is committed to maintain the quality & high standards at par with our international counterparts Keeping in view of global crime patterns, following divisions/units are proposed to be inducted in near future:
- Superimposition Unit
- Osteology and Odontology Division
- Brain Mapping Unit
- Counterfeit Currency and Travel Documents Unit
- Mobile Forensic Unit.
- Analog and Digital Audio/Video Unit.
- Centralized Data Bank Division.
To keep pace with modernization of Crime & Technology, the proposal for Redesigning and Reengineering of CFSL(CBI), Ne Delhi has been initiated under XI Five Year Plan.
Depending on crime density distribution, the proposal for creation of Scientific Aids Units (SAU’s) at two metropolitan cities viz. Kolkata and Mumbai along with strengthening of the existing SAU at Chennai is under process in XI Five Year Plan.
